Some robots are very resistant to adaptation, and any chance of success requires a large research team. A hobbot is extraordinarily adaptable, and there is a 100% bonus when messing with it. Hence the name hobbyist robot. A heavy offensive combot is very resistant to alterations with a -100% penalty if you get close enough to mess with it. Corporations don’t want anyone altering their killing machines.
